He has done B.Sc. Forestry from College of Horticulture and Forestry, Jhalawar (MPUAT Udaipur) and M.Sc. Wood Science and Technology from FRI, Dehradun. He has qualified Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)- NET examination in 2013.His doctoral degree at FRI, Dehradun with Dr. Anil Negi focused study on the development of medium density fiber board from bamboo using needle punch technique. It was the unique work for the development of fiber board.
Dr. Sumit has more than five years of research and teaching experience in various universities in India and abroad. He received his Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from College of Forestry, Dapoli, Maharashtra and Master of Science (Wood Science and Technology) from Forest Research Institute, Dehradun. He received his Ph.D. from University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. His doctoral research focused on the modification of nanoclay using transition metal ion and its effect on mechanical, physical, and thermal properties of Wood-plastic composites.
His Post-doctoral researcher tenure at Kyungpook National University, South Korea and University of Malaya, Malaysia with Professor Byung-Dae Park focused on effect of nanoclay modification on the performance of Urea-Formaldehyde resins adhesives. His research at University of Malaya involved the synthesis of nanocellulose from palm fiber and its reinforcement in wood polymer composites.
His research and teaching interest includes Wood adhesion (Synthesis and modification of thermosetting polymers and its application in wood panels), Wood composites (Reinforcement of nanofiller in wood composites/wood- plastic composites), Bio composites (Preparation of composites from weeds or other lignocellulosic materials/ Synthesis of nanocellulose from lignocellulosic materials and its application in bio composites).
Dr. Reeja has nine years of Teaching, Research and Extension experience. Her subjects of expertise include Tree Genetics, Tree Breeding and Improvement with special focus on clonal forestry and Conservation Biology. She has also worked extensively on the improvement of Bio-diesel crop Jatropha. She started her career in 2009 as SMS at KVK, Vriddhachalam, TNAU. Remote sensing is another area of interest to her with special focus on hyperspectral sensing and techniques.
She had done a short-term pilot project on “Estimation of Foliar Nitrogen using Hyperspectral satellite data from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing. She has 15 Research articles, 3 books and 3 book chapters to her credit. She has participated and presented her research work in various National and International Conferences.
Ms. T. V. B. S. Lalitha is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tree Breeding and Improvement, Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI), Hyderabad at Mulugu. She has completed her B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry and M.Sc. Forestry in the department of Forest Biology and Tree Improvement in FCRI, Mulugu. She awarded PCCF’s (HOFF) Gold Medal for securing the first position in B.Sc.(Hons.) Forestry and secured top rank in her masters. She has qualified in National eligibility test (NET) and SET (state eligibility test) conducted by UGC and Telangana state respectively.
In addition to these, she got qualified in few competitive exams conducted at Telangana state level. She has extensively carried out screening studies on neem genotypes for higher azadirachtin content and also worked on molecular divergence studies of neem genotypes collected from different districts of Telangana and Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Rajasthan states of India by using ISSR markers during her Master programme which made her to expertise in molecular genetic works viz., DNA extraction and amplification with markers. She has done a project work on macro-propagation and macro-proliferation of Bamboo.
She also extended her work on evaluation of growth parameters of nursery raised seedlings of jamun with the application of biofertilizers to them. Her areas of prime interest are Tree improvement, Biotechnological innovations in forestry, seed technology Environmental science, Biodiversity conservation studies. She has 4 research papers to her credit. She also participated in few national level seminars and conferences and received a certificate for poster presentation in “One day National seminar on Intellectual Property Rights in Forest Genetic Resource Conservation & Management”.
Dr. Shalini Mudalkar has published sixteen research articles and two book chapters, which have received numerous citations. Her scientific interests include plant tissue culture, molecular biology, plant stress biology, "omics" studies and molecular characterization of medicinal, aromatic, and dye-yielding plants.
Academic Qualifications :
Dr. Arjun has completed his BSc (Hons.) Forestry from Kerala Agricultural University, MSc (Forestry) in Forest Genetic Resources from University of Agricultural Sciences – Dharwad (Sirsi) and PhD (Forestry) Forest Biology and Tree Improvement from Kerala Agricultural University. A gold medalist in the Masters’ programme, he has been awarded the coveted INSPIRE Junior Research Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
His academic profile includes securing national-level competitive scholarships (UGC JRF in Environmental Science, GATE in Ecology and Evolution) and qualifying UGC and ICAR National Eligibility Tests multiple times. His prime research interests are tree breeding, molecular biology and conservation genetics.
His formal research has been on genetic diversity assessment and domestication of an anti-cancer drug yielding plant found in the wilderness of peninsular India as scattered populations. He also nurtures a parallel interest in bird diversity and ecology. He has published in journals of repute such as Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution and Current Science.
Dr. Priya's M.Sc. work was “Vegetative propagation of Pittosporum floribundum through cuttings under mid hill conditions of Himachal Pradesh” and Ph.D. thesis work was on “Growth, regeneration and propagation studies of Olea glandulifera. She received merit scholarship for her master’s research as well as DST INSPIRE fellowship for her doctoral research. She has more than15 national and international publications. She has co-authored one book.
She has also done two years training course for Assistant conservator of forest at Dehradun with special medal in the subject of Ecology and Biodiversity. Before joining FCRI, she was working as a Sub- Divisional Forest Officer in Nawegaon National Park, NNTR, under Maharashtra Forest department. She has one-year experience of working in Wildlife, National Park and tiger Reserve. She did Aquatic habitat Restoration of Nawegaon lake, Meadow development works for herbivores, weed eradication, wildlife census etc. in NNTR.
Dr. N.S. Srinidhi completed her Post Graduation in Environmental Science from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. She obtained Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. She ranked second in her M.Sc. Examination at the University level. She has more than three years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Science and Technology, where she taught Environmental Studies and Disaster Management.
She also served as an NSS Programme Officer and faculty coordinator for the Student Social Services Club in the same college. She also has a work experience of three years in an environmental NGO (Council for Green Revolution) and an Educational NGO (Vanguards) based in Hyderabad. She was awarded with UGC - JRF for the period of 2017 to 2019. She has also qualified UGC - NET (January 2017) and TS – SET (June - 2017). She has 13 Research articles, 1 book and few popular articles to her credit.
She also received second prize as Young Scientist Award by the Utkal University, Orissa. She has presented and participated in various national and international conference, training and workshop. She is also trained in Remote- sensing and GIS and has a good knowledge on QGIS, Arc Pro and Arc Map 10.8.1.
Mr.M. Sampath Kumar works as a Librarian at Forest College and Research Institute, Mulugu. He has more than 3 years of experience as an Information Assistant. He had earlier worked as Information assistant at IIT Madras, Chennai and R.V.M. Medical College, Mulugu, Telangana State. He received his Master's of Library and Information Science from Kakatiya University and Postgraduate Diploma in Library Automation and Networking (P.G.D.L.A.N) from University of Hyderabad.
Moreover, he is teaching Library and Information Services to the Postgraduate Students at Forest College & Research Institute. He has published two articles in journals on Digital Libraries and Total Quality Management.
Dr. K. Prabhu working as a Physical Director/Sports Officer FCRI, Hyderabad @ Mulugu. He has 12 years in Schools, 24 years in Junior/Degree & PG Colleges experience. Dr. Sreedhar Bodiga
